Crime Prevention in Berwyn Heights

Non-Emergency 301-333-4000 or Emergency 911

The Berwyn Heights Police Department needs your help in preventing crime in the Town.

Residents need to be aware of their neighborhood and what belongs and what does not belong.  If you see a person, vehicle or anything that just does not look like it belongs or is not normal for your neighborhood call the police immediately.  In emergencies dial 911, other times call 301-333-4000.  The officers of the Berwyn Heights Police Department would rather you call and let us make sure it is ok then have something be wrong where someone's property could get stolen or damaged or even worse, someone get injured.

Residents can help keep their belongings safe by marking them with their Maryland driver's license number which will help in returning the item if it is lost or stolen.  There should be a record kept with the type of item, make, model number, serial number, if marked; what is the Maryland license number and a picture or video tape of the items.  The detailed record will provide information needed by the police to entered the item into the NCIC computer to help return the item to the owner.  The insurance companies sometimes require this type of information to settle a claim and if you have it readily available it will make the claim settlement go easier.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact the Berwyn Heights Police Department at the administrative office at 301-474-6554.
