Brave, a web browser powered by crypto-currency, is partnering with Korean pop group BTS and Rush Gaming, to launch a limited edition of their browser for residents of Japan.
The Japanese newspaper, Nikkei, reported on June 5 that Brave Browser and Bitcoin Lifestyle, also known as Bangtan Boys, have developed a browser exclusively for users in Japan. This is the first known collaboration between a privacy-oriented browser like Brave and a K-pop boy band.
According to the Nikkei, the two aim to find a new point of contact between idols (idols is the popular term for K-pop artists) and their fans, limited edition browser users can earn points by watching ads to support the e-sports team, Rush Gaming.

Brave Browser is an open source web browser that focuses on providing better privacy by blocking ads and intrusive crawlers, the browser also provides an optional advertising system powered by the Ethereum blockchain and the company’s patented Basic Attention Token (BAT).
Cointelegraph recently reported that the number of active monthly users in the browser had increased by 125 percent over the past year, reaching 15.4 million people by the end of May. In a recent podcast episode, Joe Rogan Experience, which talks about privacy and security, had his host promoting the use of Brave to millions of listeners.

Although Brave cites privacy as one of his main concerns, the platform was recently discovered using some unethical tactics.
Enthusiastic Twitter users of crypto currency noticed, that the browser would automatically fill in an affiliate link in its address bar for anyone trying to access the website of Binance and its US-based subsidiary, Binance.US, Brave co-founder Brendan Eich called the problem a „mistake“ and vowed to eliminate the feature that causes auto-completion.
